My name is Michael Lewis - and its my pleasure to share my thoughts on technology with you.
This blog came about after taking a few years "time out" from writing product reviews and op-ed pieces during my years at Telstra. My first blog appeared in the now archived Now We are Talking (nowwearetalking.com.au) on 16 July, 2007 - entitled What makes a "good" mobile phone?
Back then I was the "Telstra gadget guru", given my role as a product manager for mobile phones. After 17 blogs, the site transformed into the Telstra Exchange. I have a collection of my earlier blogs reproduced in the archive section of this site. Please feel free to take a look if you are interested.
I spent almost 40 years in the fun part of the technology wave - from Personal Computer Product Manager at IBM through to Senior Product Manager and Mobility Specialist at Telstra - I always seemed to end up in the corporate "toy department".
Historically, we pitched a physical product that either solved a specific need, or was a must have for early adopters. Today, its all about the app.
Outside of the tech world, I am a volunteer Community Emergency First Responder. This has allowed me to view the potential for technology to assist with patient care to improve the quality of life for both those in need and those who care for them.
I hope to share a lot of these thoughts with you - and invite you in turn to comment. Together we may find the right solution to assist someone in need. I am open to suggestions on topics you would like to hear about. My only disclaimer - the comments I make in my blog are my own - I am not paid to promote a specific product or service. It is not my place to put any product down - if I have concerns about a product I will contact the manufacture directly.
